LayBrick by Kai Parthy / CC Products
A 5 Metre sample of LayBrick filament by Kai Parthy / CC Products LayBrick is perfect for sculpture modelling and architectural pieces. Looks like a soft and smooth clay in its filament form. Can be printed to have a rough or smooth texture, depending on the temperature it is extruded by. No heated bed necessary. Contains natural mineral fillers (super-fine milled chalk) and harmless co-polyesters.
The LayBrick 3D printer filament has been developed by Kai Parthy , along with the other premium filaments LAYWOOD-D3 LAYWOO-D3 FLEX and the amazing POROLAY range of filaments . Which we also have in stock.
If you are new to Laybrick this is worth a read “printing with LayBrick”.
You can also see some of the prints created using LayBrick on our online guide here http://3dfilaprint.com/help.
The filament can be used for very large objects (make sure you have a big enough bed) as it has almost Zero warp. The filament is available in both 3mm & 1.75mm in a 5 Metre wrap and a full coil which weighs approximately 250 gms. The length of one whole 3mm coil is approximately 28 metres.
Printing within a 165°C - 190°C temperature range, produces a smoother finish, while higher temperatures, above 210°C, produces the rougher, sandstone like finish. The filament should be printed on a cold bed. As with some other filaments you may have to adjust settings to get the best prints.

Very cool but brittle filament. Look very nice and like unbaked ceramic when finished. Easy to sand with fine sandpaper to make it extra smooth.
Whilst it needs handling with care so as not to snap when coiled up, this is a great filament. If printed with 0.1mm layers then the layering is not noticeable without a magnifying glass.
